Availability of GSS services in Bangladesh

The consular section at the U.S. Embassy Dhaka has reopened for routine consular services on September 02, 2024 following the end of the ordered departure of U.S. Embassy staff, but will have limited capacity until all U.S. staffs return to Dhaka.

Please see the update on GSS services until further notice:

• Appointment Services: The U.S. Embassy, Dhaka has cancelled/rescheduled all the NIV visa appointments scheduled between July 18, through July 28, 2024, and August 04, through September 14, 2024. Applicants are requested to login and reschedule if required. NIV applicants may submit the expedited appointment request, if not submitted earlier, and have suitable reason to support.

  Student visa applicants, whose appointment was cancelled, may go through the process of applying from India .

  All immigrant visa appointments scheduled online for August through September 30, 2024, have been rescheduled to a new date. All immigrant visa interviews that were scheduled previously by the National Visa Center (NVC) have been cancelled.  However, as workload and resources permit, Embassy will gradually reschedule these interviews.

• Document Delivery Services: The Document Delivery center at Dhaka, and Premium Delivery centers at Sylhet and Chittagong is operational, effective August 11, 2024.

• Call Center Services: The local helpline number for Bangladesh is operational on the business days as per the standard business hours, effective August 8, 2024.
